Holiday House Tour

Sunday, December 3, from noon to 4 p.m. with reception to follow

Get in the holiday spirit and delve into local history with a tour of eight private homes, historic houses, and churches along the Main Street corridor. Stops include:

  • Grange Hall, with a display of Swedish Christmas decorations
  • Speaker’s House, where the new corner fireplaces will be lit for the first time
  • Henry Muhlenberg House, featuring a Pennsylvania German Christmas
  • Northern Star Farm, home of Matthew Wismer
  • Dewees Tavern, decorated with German Erzgebirge woodcarvings
  • Mayor Connie and Bob Peck’s residence, a former blacksmith shop and general store
  • Trappe Borough Hall, where local artist Julie Longacre is exhibiting her work and will be selling paintings, prints, and greeting cards
  • Augustus Lutheran Church, built in 1743

There will also be a special pop-up display and shop of homemade gingerbread and clear toy candy from Shane’s Confectionery in Philadelphia. A reception will follow from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Community Music School with free seasonal refreshments as well as Trappe-themed pottery, books, greeting cards, and other local products available for purchase.

Tour starts at Trappe Borough Hall, where programs will be available for pickup on December 3 starting at 11 a.m. Tickets will also be for sale at Borough Hall on December 3 only starting at 11 a.m.
