Historic Trappe 1717-2017

Muhlenberg Play
October 27–29 (show times Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 3 and 7 p.m., Sunday at 2 p.m.)
Augustus Lutheran Church, 717 W. Main Street

2017 is also the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther initiating the Protestant Reformation. To mark this occasion, the Landesbühnen Sachsen theater company in Germany has developed a special play “In God’s Own Country” about Lutheran pastor Henry Muhlenberg. Learn about the struggles of German immigrants as they adapted to life in a new country. The German actors and singers—together with local actors and the Augustus Lutheran Church choir—will offer several performances of the play in the historic Augustus Lutheran Church, built in 1743.
